Which version of card(s) works well with Dawn of Discovery?

I have an SLI rig with 2 8800GT installed, but I have disable SLI to play this game. So I am considering upgrading to one super card....

Any recommendations?

Why do you have you Sli disable. I ran crossfire with a 4850x2 1gb card for the first month till change to a 2gb ati 4870 card.

Did you install the latest drivers ? Nvidia has SLI support for Anno 1404. I don't have SLI so i don't watch which driver adds support for certain games, but i think it was with the 190.xx drivers.

There is also an older SLI profile update for the 186.18 drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/object/n...i_profile_patch.html

I've tried SLI in the past and it caused way too much lag.

I guess I'll have to give those links a go for a little bit.

EDIT: Wow, I installed that profile patch and it fixed all the problems. I'm playing 4AA x 16AF and it's running smoothly through Chapter 7 & 8.

I have two coumputers that have foxcom mother boards one is tri coure and the other is quade core both have ATI on board graphics and both work great no problems at all the quad has ATI radeon HD 3200 works flaw less. The tri core has the 3100 graphics. Each board probley cost less than you graphics cards.They both use AMD processors.

I have a ATI HD4890 1gig and a came across a grahpical problem in the game, where you normaly should see the ground,its all black.

You can do the update and that should take care of it. If it doesn't work than you have change a line in the Engine.ini -file located in "x:\Users\...\Anno1404\Config\Engine.ini":

<RE_TerrainRenderMode>0</RE_TerrainRenderMode> and change 0 to 1
