When you send an army to "assist" another army or trebuchet, are they supposed to deal damage to the enemy, or just soak up damage? I read in the Prima guide that your army and its "assister" will split the damage done to it.
Yesterday, when I was using armies, I sent one to assist a trebuchet, but I did not see an increased decrease in the enemy army's hit points. They only went down when the treb attacked. Is this normal?
Is your trebuchet in close combat with the enemy or does it using it's long range? In close combat it wouldn't be normal, both your armies - the first attacker and the "assister" - should do damage to the enemy army.
Hm, sounds strange, but maybe it depends on the detailed circumstances. So which units are involved besides the treb and did you start the attack first or was it the enemy? And your supporting unit was close enough so that the "support"-button was activated?
A small army attacked my treb, so I told the treb to attack it. Then I told my large army located alongside my treb to assist the treb.
This happened in chapter 6 of the campaign. It's the only time I've been in combat so far, and because it was chapter 6, it was a frustrating experience. I'll have to engage in combat more and try different tests to see what works.
All I know is when I sent my army to attack an enemy army directly, it did a lot more damage than just assisting a friendly (at least in this example).
In the campaign some things don't work like in a continous game, but it would make no sense if supporting your armies wouldn't work. So i have no more idea for the moment what the reason could be
This game combat system is really needed to be improved.
there's once my small camp army was attacked by a big camp army. Since my small camp is near coast, so i sent 10 oriental warships to bombard the enemy attackers. Based on the combat detail indicator, my ships did over 400 damages everytime, but the big camp army only took the damage did by my small camp army.
If you watch the videos the creators did on youtube, they state that troops are available to assist dying legions. They also state they they do this by attacking the same unit.
So you would think that the damage would be double, but obviously that is not the case...I agree with the new system being flawed..
I love everything about this game except when units fight each other..it's just borderline pathetic there is almost no Mathmatics involved that you can manage while units are in combat....other than Provisions, but we all know how hard it is to even generate enough of those in War time..especially with Hard AI.
