For you, or everyone. What do you think? Its been a few months after launch and this board seems dead. Has the non-existent hype that was 1404-er.. Dawn of Discovery's launch went away?

This game is pretty much dead to me, after I found out it wasn't online play there was no reason to be excited about playing it.

I never play online anyway, or any of the scenarios, I only play the continuous games and I still like the game. The patch improved a few things, but didn’t do a whole lot for how I play the game. I’m still waiting for the DOD version of the map editor to come out.

the patch for me was a mixed bag .. some useful changes etc, but nothing solid to extend the gameplay any or fix existing end-game issues

i still love the game .. altho i mostly play continuous games now .. but the lack of continuity at the end of the game and broken/bugged achievements is slowly draining my soul and enjoyment. i can only hope that they sort this out.

as for ubisoft's support of this game .. that for me has been the biggest disappointment, and has marred my enjoyment of what was poentially my game of the year

enjoyment of the game - 8/10
potential enjoyment of the game - 9/10
support for the game - 2/10

What can I say? This game is beautiful and extremly addictive. But how long can you keep playing continuous games vs AI? It has a GREAT potential for multiplayer, and could easily become the game of the year if this mode was included.
I have to say I'm also dissapointed in the quality of support. Plus making these english forums was amiss. If the support is only german then they should have released this game only in germany.

I'm in full agreement with amcpheat1 and nsanee . The support of this game is shocking. Coupled with the DRM hassle, it really is a poor performance.

I am still very much playing but I am cheesed off at having to start a new profile to be online (So I can play the same profile on my PC and my laptop when away). I can't believe they can add a new 'feature' with a late patch, and not provide support for old profiles. It's pretty shocking...

I agree with you I bougth dawn of discovery from steam and I can not install world editor I am very angry for this developer must release world ediyor for english version

Well, I don't have much to add to what has been said, but in case a german dev gets bored one day and actually reads any other forums, I want my vote to count.
Love this game. Love it big time. Game of the year for me. But I have quit playing. About half my saved games I cant load anymore, which means I can lose literally dozens of hours of gaming. That's the only deal breaker bug I have encountered... and since some quests can't be completed, going for achievements and the gold ship is not available... so its really not worth playing.
I still comb these forums every few days to keep up with the community - you guys are a bunch of great guys/gals, but I am done playing. I am totally shocked at the support they have for this game. After coming from WOW, GW, and many other games, where support is at your fingertips, and feedback is around every corner, to now experience a feeling of helplessness when needing help or feedback...meh... its just not worth it. I'll keep browsing the forums, in hope a new patch fixes the problems, and maybe I can contribute to posts to help out others, but otherwise, I havent touched the game in 2 weeks, and dont plan to until major changes are made.

There is only one problem is that we the people on this forum are the support for this game not Ubisoft. They could careless about this forum. We are not with the english forum and will never be. We don't even have a link to support forum from this forum. So any thing that is going to be fix in this game will come from the German forum and not this one.

I have put up a link to the support forum and I'll keep bumping it up to keep it up so people can find it. If I don't do that it will end up in never never land. The world editor for DOD will never happen till they do and add-on. That is why I bought both games DOD & 1404 UK. Plus the German Mod's said that they started a FAQ sticky and try to put it all in Engish and you have seen how far that has got. Nothing has been done there for over a month and most of it is still in German. I'm sorry that I'm going to say this, but we need a English mod in here that is going to help us and be here full time and not part time.

One of reasons that this forum seems dead is that it is hard to find this forum, so many of the English speaking players don't know about it. I think it is amazing that Ubisoft has pretty much ignored the English-speaking community, considering:

1. English is such an international language that many people around the world use it as a second language, and it is the de-facto language of the internet.
2. The United States makes up a major chunk of the revenues for most game sales, with our larger population and higher prices. (I am not sure if you guys realize this, but game publishers charge US customers more than the Europeans for games, simply because they know we will pay it.)

I willing to bet money that Ubisoft has at least one English speaking person on staff, but as far as I know, there has never been a single post by them on this forum.

This forum is dead it has right now currently 1 member(s) and 28 guest(s) in this forum. You can come any time and will always have alot of quest. People come here see how bad this forum is and all of Ubisoft are like this one. The German mod's in the pass have told us that they can't change things and Ubisoft will not let them. Come on how hard is it to put a link in the USA forum group to this forum. I'm with another forum run by two or three guys and it 10 times better than this one. You have only one guy that moderated this forum He only does it part time. It's not to bad today to find this forum. If you tried over a year ago you would never found it. This forum is part of the German forum and it will always be that way no matter what we say.

No, the Game isn't dead. As others have commented, it's not exactly easy to find this forum, and this type of game doesn't normally create a huge amount of discussion in the first place. I also don't see why having a multiplayer mode is such a big deal, since it doesn't fit the game style very well.

These games aren't designed to play like RTS games, which is why I don't really feel any need for a multiplayer mode. My average game already takes 40+ hours(I like to play the entire game on the slowest speed), and somehow I doubt I'll find many human opponents that are willing to spend that much time on a single match. Now, if they had a cooperative version where you played as a team and never fought with each other I might be able get behind the idea of multi player, but if I'm in the mood for head to head play involving quick decisions and tactical thinking I'll play COH, DOWII or any one of a dozen other RTS games that are actually optimized for online competition and that have matches that last an hour or less.
