Please correct me if I am wrong, or if you know of a way to gain this one.

The achievement 'The roadmap in your head' should be given when you achieve a Mayor city, without ever creating a trade route.

For this I started a huge medium-hard game, I settled on 2 Islands only and never created a trade route.

I just got my German city leveled to Mayor City, but didn't receive the achievement alas. Is there some other trick extra to it, or is it simply bugged?

Just reading the German topics, (although I have a little trouble understanding it.) I believe it states the description of this achievement might just be wrong and it might be needing 1 step higher in the city rank.

Perhaps someone could confirm this?

No need to confirm anymore, I increased my city to Commercial Centre and got the achievement, title and gems.

So either the achievement description should be different, or the trigger to give it. But at least the reward can be gained

Same here. Thank you for introducing clarity to this bug. I'll try to acheive the Commercial Centre status.
